Description
An unpasteurised raw milk Brie de Meaux style cheese. It has a bloomy rind with a complex but balanced taste of butter and mushrooms. It is becoming a new British classic.
Baron Bigod is made at Fen Farm Farm in Bungay, Suffolk. It is made in the same way as a traditional Brie de Meaux and even uses the same breed of cows (Montbeliarde). The cheese is named after the 12th century Earl of Norfolk and French (Norman) baron who once owned the land the farm is built on. |
